Hello allies,

How the tides have changed, and the eb and flow of society has seemed to gain the upper hand in the the journey. If you worry like I do, then you too fear only the worst. Pity and self-loathing only drag you down. It is the music that we make that will bring us to divinity.

With that, we gladly introduce a new cornerstone in which to build upon. The honorable Jason Merrell will be taking up his gaurd, and entrusting the talents of his hands to the Kings. It has been a long time, and a long cold winter, but this addition should bring joy and happiness to the community.

There has been much rejoicing, we are kings... lest you forget.

The current strategy calls for us to law low and let the heat overhead pass. They have tried to flank before and if we attack prematurely,we may fall. We must create a sound unheard by the people. A sound new to the people. A sound taylor-made for the people. We will create that sound while the fire passes.

The Kings will return, when the sound is made. Keep your ears alert with a fire of passion and your spirits high. Winter will be over and the Kings will ride.

-klink, m

alright guys... 3 orders of business.

1. Our song (never actually heard by anyone other than ourselves), "Question Everything" will be featured on Deep Elm Records' Emo Diaries Vol. 11 : Taking Back What's Ours. This is a really famous compilation that really meant a lot to us growing up. This is the comp. that Jimmy Eat World, Further Seems Forever, and consequently Dashboard Confessional got their start from. We worked really hard on the song, and it will only be available on the comp... so make sure to check it out. For more info on the Emo Diaries click here.

2. A new song will be posted up on the myspace THIS FRIDAY. Fans of ocelot and/or the rise: be excited.

3. Next Friday, June 27th, Cam will be playing an acoustic show at The Door Fort Worth with Incendiary, Josephine Collective, Atlantic Crossing, and Sterling. There might quite possibly be a very very special guest performer with him whom he may or may not have written a borderline disturbingly creepy myspace song about. To hear the creepy myspace song Cam may or may not have written, along with some of his other songs click here. Seriously, check his stuff out... tell your friends and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come to the show. Klink will be there too, if you want him to sign autographs or something. :)

love,

jeff, austin, klink, and cam.

We are going to be featured on two different compilations coming up very soon. The first one is the "Fight Back! Volume 1 Compilation" that's being put out on Champion Recordings, which is ran by by none other than Ryan Conley (drummer for Oh, Sleeper / ex-Terminal). It includes tracks by such great bands as The Human Abstract, The Devil Wears Prada, My Son My Executioner, Sherwood, Broadway, Scarlet, New Atlantic, Sullivan and more. We will also be featured on the legendary "The Emo Diaries, Volume 11" released by Deep Elm Records. It will contain 12 unreleased songs from the hottest bands in the scene (their words, not ours). The Kings track, entitled "Question Authority", was recorded specifically for this and it will only be available on the comp.

Our new video for "All Roads Lead To Home" has went up on our MySpace.  Go check it out now at www.myspace.com/knockoutkings.  Leave us a message and let us know what you think!

We just got out of the studio from recording a new track for a compilation we will hopefully be able to announce we're going to be on very soon.  I think everyone will be very pleased with how it turned out.  We recorded with David Dreesen again at Jacketweather Studios in Austin, TX.

Our other website was acting crazy, so we decided to put the old one up until we can find out what's going on.  Here's a bunch of old news you may have missed, as well as some new stuff.

We just shot a video for "All Roads Lead Home" and should be ready in a couple of weeks.  We'll post news as to when we're going to put it up for the public as soon as possible.  It was shot by local videographer Andy Stark from IOPNR Films.  Early edits are looking fantastic.

We just got reviewed in the latest double cover issue of HM Magazine. It's the one that has two different covers that feature Pillar and Skillet. They gave it 4 and 1/2 stars, which was the highest rated album in the issue.

Another KNOCKOUT KINGS review is in from Disconnect, Disconnect Fanzine in the UK. Here's what they had to say:

"Knockout King's third EP is the result of a band finding and nailing their sound. 'The Kid's Got Heart!' has transformed the band from a decent post hardcore band to a powerful rock machine with songs that are melodic, powerful and anthemic. With songs equal parts rocking and memorable singalongs, it won't be long until bands will be listing these guys as their major influences, and we see Knockout Kings make the difficult jump from a local scene band to a national headline touring act. A really strong release from a band on the verge of something special." 8/10.

With the record now reaching the UK, the KINGS mark is just being made here in the US. We've heard rumors of merch on actor Stephen Baldwin as well as Flyleaf bassist Pat Seals on the Carson Daly Show, which you can see a picture of at www.dollhouseinc.com/kingsCARSON.jpg. Pretty crazy!

Also, be sure and check out Cam being the "hero" in the new widows&orphans video for "We Are All Exiles". We must say that if he doesn't make it in the music world, he could quite possibly be the next Jean Claude Van Damme or Jet Li.

Well, somehow we continue to receive critical praise. Dallas publication Quick! called us one of the "five to see live" in the area and described us as a "passionate emo-punk outfit with a more-than-decent EP". We recently posted a second song from The Kid's Got Heart! on our MySpace. Listen to "All Roads Lead Home" on www.myspace.com/knockoutkings.

We will be posting a new song on our MySpace this Monday.  We've decided to let our fans and listeners pick the song we put up!!!  You can go right now to www.myspace.com/knockoutkings and vote in our poll on our profile.  It's located under the General Info section on the left.  Let us know what song you want up!!!

Several reviews and an interview for "The Kid's Got Heart!" have been posted in different places.  We were reviewed in Outburn magazine, which stated that we were "...remarkably catchy and fearlessly poppy..." and gave us 7 out of 10 stars.  Pretty good.  We also have been reviewed on Smother.net, PoisonFree.com, and BeatTheBlizzard.com.  We also have an interview up at Highwire Daze you can check out by going to http://highwiredaze.com/knockoutkings.htm.

Thanks to everyone who's been calling and emailing 102.1 The Edge radio every Sunday night to request us.  Please continue to show your support by emailing and calling constantly so they'll continue to play us on The Local Show.  They actaully played us at the very beginning of the show last week.  Thanks to the station for playing us, as well.

Knockout Kings Hit The Airwaves

We have been getting some radio play in the Dallas/Fort Worth area on 102.1 The Edge's The Local Show. We need people to call and request and/or email them directly and get them to play "All Roads Lead Home", the first track off of "The Kid's Got Heart!". The show starts at 9PM on Sunday. The DJ's name is Chris Ryan.

Two ways to request:
1)
Shortly before 9AM on Sunday call (214) 787-1102 and start flooding the lines with requests for them to play right at 9PM.
2) Email chris@kdge.com and request them. Email them before the show so when he gets there, he has a ton of emails requesting them. Also let him know that you want to see us play The Live Local Show at Firewater when you're emailing or calling in.

You can stream it live @ www.kdge.com.

Also if you have a college radio show or local indie show that would play the KINGS or other Doll House releases get in touch with them at radio@dollhouseinc.com.

We've been back from tour for a few days now.  We just wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped us out on the road.  We had a great time and the shows were awesome.  We'll be hitting the road again in June-July with labelmates widows&orphans.  Hope to see you out there and at Cornerstone.  Dates are to the right for that tour.

Also, we want to give a big shout out to everyone in the DFW area that came out and showed their support at our CD Release Party.  It was a lot of fun.  I know it's a bit belated, but we've been crazy busy.
